Kino, I’ve always done both A and B with the bent knee as poised on the back of the humerus, balancing on and compressing the triceps on that side, rather than wrapping laterally on the outside of the arm and gripping. I’ll try it the way that you demonstrated and see what the difference is, but are either considered to be “correct method?”

Thank you very much for your videos, even if i can’t do some of the moves you show it’s great to have something to shoot for.

This was really helpful for getting into the posture. I am not to the point of balancing yet, but this is helpful in feeling the muscles engage.

Sometimes I think I’m crazy to be doing yoga and all these crazy poses, but damn do they feel good when you do it. My mom can’t stand seeing me do yoga, she’s always afraid I’m going to get seriously hurt, but I haven’t yet, just minor injuries. Anyways, great vid, you truly are an inspiration and a great teacher!

Great video, thanks. But i can not straighten my leg, the bend one is fine, thats not the problem, but just as the firefly, i cant straighten them, any tips?

  • pyrospawnx 7 years ago

First I started following because she is so friggin hot, but now I’m following because I ACTUALLY want to learn how to do this. Bodybuilding for 2 years now and flexibility has been compromised.

the more I look at her the more I’m convinced that if I try to do this stuff I will break my arm.

  • KinoYoga 7 years ago

You have to strengthen the wrists slowly while building connection into your core. Be patient and let it come naturally.

  • KinoYoga 7 years ago

Both are ok as long as you’re able to straighten the arms and the extended leg.

What an amazing Human Specimen. It amazes me they way you bend stretch and lift your body weight. Seeing you do it and following your videos makes me believe that it can be done, with consistency and great effort, along with patience. You are simply amazing. This is what I need for my sport of boxing. I need this yoga real bad to release my inner energy, speed and agility. Thanks for generously sharing your video

Mine, too! And I’ve been practicing yoga for at least 6 years. The pain makes me too scared to do a full handstand.

I have only recently come to find your videos, but wow, I’m overwhelmed and have no idea where to start. I tried doing some headstands and hurt my neck/back 🙁

  • KinoYoga 7 years ago

Start off with the Sun Salutations, I have a good video for Beginners shot in New Zeland. Check it out and start there. Build up to things like headstands and more challenging postures slowly.

Hi, what is the benefit of this pose? Thanks 🙂

  • KinoYoga 7 years ago

Strengthens the core, builds inner resolution and firms the shoulder girdle on a physical level and on a more subtle level it’s hard to explain, but the deeper benefits include increased self confidence, decreased anxiety.

  • Chris Counts 7 years ago

You make it look so effortless

  • Hiep-Anh Tran 7 years ago

Thanks, Kino! How does one become your student without going broke? 🙂 I want to be a teacher, a great teacher one day…but I haven’t my teacher yet. Hope to meet you some day! Thanks for the videos…

  • Hiep-Anh Tran 7 years ago

PS: What is the best way to learn the handstand? I taught myself the headstand, but I find much challenges in the handstand asana. Thank you.

  • KinoYoga 7 years ago

Check out some of my other videos on handstands :-)

For these arm balance what for warming up is the best for no injury?

  • KinoYoga 7 years ago

Sun Salutations will give you a base level of strength. Then try Bakasana, Tittibhasana, Navasana before.

  • Candy Lowen 7 years ago

So you may already be answering this but some of my main yoga goals are tripod headstand, handstand and also arm balancing. I feel they need some of the same attributes such as strength from the core and wrists is there any poses you suggest for beginning conditioning to accomplish these other than what you’ve already mentioned in this comment? Thank you!!

  • KinoYoga 7 years ago

I have a pretty long breakdown of tripod headstand on my channel, filmed in New Zealand. Check it out to get the alignment for that posture.

  • Sopa Tangboonpant 7 years ago

my wrist is stiff, cannot move, is there any way to do headstand or other pose about arm.
